About the workshop
You will learn basic etiquette, greetings, how to hold a sword properly, correct posture, and

About Yusei Uchida
Yusei started practicing Kengido at the age of 8 under Tetsuro Shimaguchi. Having achieved the qualification of a brown belt, Yusei is the youngest Kengido instructor, and spreads Kengido while studying at a high school in Vancouver. Yusei has experience performing in Finland, Russia, Italy, UAE, Czech Republic, Poland, Spain, and more, and continues to travel the world with the Samurai Artist KAMUI group.

Welcome to the Amabilis Spring Concert! Join us at the New Westminster Christian Reformed Church for a night filled with beautiful music and talented performers. In this concert, you will be treated to The Tree of Peace by Gwyneth Walker, a contemporary adaptation of the Quaker poem, followed by O Brother Man, by John Greenleaf Whittier. “Come to the Woods by Jake Runestad, where we observe a storm from the top of an Amabilis Fir tree, will give way to “The Ground by Ola Gjeilo, based on a chorale from the last movement of his Sunrise Mass. This moving performance will culminate in the beauty of the Fauré Requiem, enhanced by the rich tones of a string ensemble and organ. Through these pieces we explore humanity's connection to nature, the pursuit of spirituality, and the quest for peace, culminating in a profound reflection on eternal rest and hope.

Wagashi Workshops
A beginner-friendly series of hands-on cooking workshops to learn the fundamentals of Japanese style confections (commonly called 和菓子 wagashi), traditionally enjoyed with tea.
About the Workshop
A quick introduction at the beginning of the class will cover the history and tradition of the seasonal wagashi, and a chance to learn about some of the lesser-known ingredients.
A hands-on approach will let the students learn the different techniques to create these traditional confections, and at the end of the class, attendees will get to take home their creations.
Equipment and ingredients will be provided. All skill levels are welcome. However, we will be working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, so a minimum age of 16 is recommended.
Please bring your own apron and a small container to take home your creations at the end of the class.
