GIG California – Carlsbad guest instructors: Lauren Rojas, Karolina Vorgeas, Chelsea Ferrando . Karolina Vorgeas is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt with over seven years of experience teaching students of all ages and skill levels. She began training at 20, inspired by the likes of Ronda Rousey, and has since built a strong foundation as both a competitor and an instructor. Beyond competition, Karolina is passionate about the deeper applications of Jiu-Jitsu—how its principles extend beyond the mats and into everyday life. A U.S. Navy veteran, she earned a degree in sociocultural anthropology from UC San Diego, originally aspiring to become a university professor. Instead, she found her true calling as a professor of Jiu-Jitsu, dedicating herself to sharing the art with others and helping them grow both physically and mentally. Chelsea Ferrando is a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu jitsu, and has been practicing for nearly 15 years; but her love of movement languages started with dance. Her professional career spanned a decade, holding a BFA in Classical performance from UofW, and touring the United States and as well as Scotland and Wales. Chelsea holds additional certifications in Yoga, personal training, fascia stretching, Corrective Exercise, and Functional Range Conditioning. She believes Jiu jitsu is the perfect culmination point, for the last 25 years of studying the immense kinetic potential of the human body. Lauren Rojas is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu , professional Muay Thai and mma fighter. I started martial arts at 12 years old. I am one of the head female instructors at alliance BJJ Carlsbad I teach our monthly free women’s self defense classes , our women’s only Jiu Jitsu classes, various coed , and kids Jiu jitsu classes. Through Jiu Jitsu I was able to win two world champion ships and one pans championship. I am currently pursuing mma and nogi Jiu Jitsu. Martial arts has been a key part of my life since I was young it gave me confidence and a skill I didn’t know would lead to my career today. I’m really proud of the work I do and specifically building up the women in my community. Outside of the mat I love to draw , try new foods , and adventure COST : $20 Min Donation.
