In this engaging and dynamic workshop, artists of all skill levels will explore the intricate and decorative details of Victorian and Neo-Gothic architecture. No prior experience is needed—just a willingness to experiment and have fun! Using a mix of water-based media, ink, markers, and crayons, attendees will learn how to bring historic architecture to life with creative techniques such as sketching, sprinkling, and spattering. The goal is to capture the charm and grandeur of Victorian buildings while adding a fresh, playful touch through expressive mark-making. Inspired by the stunning architecture of Ottawa’s historic neighborhoods, including the Glebe, Bank Street, and OttawaU, participants will develop a unique approach to urban sketching and architectural illustration. Whether you love architecture or simply want to experiment with mixed media techniques, this workshop will help you create lively, character-filled compositions in a relaxed and inspiring environment.
