The Mayor's Charity Gala brings together some of the finest and best-loved performance organisations throughout our town for a one-night-only celebration of Witney's creative and cultural spirit. Featuring live music, dance, short plays, musical theatre, comedy, eye-opening burlesque, and even more, this one-of-a-kind variety performance will raise money for the Mayor's Charities - Yellow Submarine, APCAM and A BAND OF BROTHERS . The performances will begin at 7:30pm, but please arrive at 7pm and enjoy your complimentary welcome drink, before heading to your seats to enjoy the show. Performances include: Dance from Jill Stew School of Dance Musical theatre and burlesque from Buttercross Theatre Short plays from Witney Dramatic Society Music from The Township Waits, Buttercross Ukulele Group and Witney Town Band And a few surprises... Plus! After the curtain falls and the show's over, join the Mayor and Witney Soul Club in the 1863 Bar at The Corn Exchange for a free after-party. Corn Exchange Daytime Cinema Presents - THE GREEN MILE Paul Edgecomb (Tom Hanks) walked the mile with a variety of cons. He had never encountered someone like John Coffey (Michael Clarke Duncan), a massive black man convicted of brutally killing a pair of young sisters. Coffey had the size and strength to kill anyone, but not the demeanor. Beyond his simple, naive nature and a deathly fear of the dark, Coffey seemed to possess a prodigious, supernatural gift.
