Gymnastics Year 1-6 PM session- TONBRIDGE SCHOOLS ONLY | Angel Centre

This event will take place over two sessions. Tunbridge Wells Schools should attend the MORNING SESSION and Tonbridge Schools should attend the AFTERNOON SESSION. Our judges are trained and provided by Extension Gym Club. Please order 1 ticket for your school and email myself or Adam to let us know how many teams you will be bringing. Pupils will take part in Vault, Floor and Bench.There is a SPECIFIC routine for EACH element which will be released once you have registered for this event. This is changing from previous years.There is no boy requirement, however we strongly encourage you to bring boys where possible.1 st, 2nd and 3rd teams will receive an award, either a medal or rosette.Format Teams can be made up of a mix of year groups as the competition is judged on skill execution and not by age group.Teams of 4. Maximum of 4 teams per school totalling 16 children.Please order 1 ticket for your school and email myself or Adam to let us know how many teams you will be bringing.All children in the team must attempt all 3 elements; floor, vault and bench as per the resource pack we will send out.Individual scores will be added together to make a team score and we will have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for each category levelJudge will be provided by Extension Gymnastics clubPlease also note that no food or drink should be consumed near the Gymnastics equipment.Team Categories Beginner: This category is for children who are ‘non-gymnasts’ whereby the children are not and never have been part of a gymnastics club in school or a community club. Gymnasts in this category will attempt Level 1.Intermediate: This category is for children that are within a school gymnastics club but not a member of a community club outside of school. Gymnasts in this category will attempt Level 2Advanced: This category is for children that are competitive gymnasts, who are members of a community club outside of school/ attend external sessions. Gymnasts in this category will attempt Level 3.There is no mixing of levels between categories and all 4 pupils in the team must complete the correct level. EG Children entered in advanced MUST complete Level 3. Children in intermediate MUST complete level 2 and so on. We are being firm on this. Event Format Date: 29th April 2025 Arrival Time: 9:00am Estimated Finish Time: 2.30pm (this could be earlier or later) Venue: Tonbridge Cricket Club, TN10 3TD Parking: No parking available Parents/Spectators: Allowed Team: 8 players (10max per team with a minimum of 2 girls) Rules: Dynamos Cricket Rules (excluding the free hit rule- we will not be playing this rule locally) For more information please contact Tora or Adam. Schedule of play and Pitch Allocation will be released closer to the event date with rule updates (if req) · A team must consist of 8 players. · There must be 2 girls playing for each team at all times. · The winning team (not school) will be invited to the Dynamos Year 5&6 Finals ran by Kent Cricket- Date TBC Additional information to note; Only teams in TONBRIDGE area can progress to county finals.If successful, the free hit rule will be in play at the county finalsTeachers will have to umpire (please download the Countdown Cricket app on your phone or tablet to keep score)If you enter two teams EACH TEAM MUST HAVE A TEACHER OR PARENT VOLUNTEER WITH THEM AT ALL TIMES TO SCORERules of how to get out Getting out forms different methods, RUN OUT, BOWLED, CAUGHT, STUMPED.Stumped: This means a batter can be out if a fielder touches the stumps with the ball OR throws the ball at the stumps and it hits BEFORE the batter is in the crease.Caught :(self-explanatory) a ball is caught before it hits the groundRan out: if batsman end up at the same end and then the stumps are hit with the ball at the other end (where there are no batters).Bowled: Bowler bowls the balls that hits the stumps of the batterGetting a Wicket (OUT) Previously in Kwik Cricket it has been -5 to the batting team. However, this has now changed and it is +5 to the fielding team. No points should be taken off the batting team.I f a player gets out, they should swap ends with their batting partner.Bowling Rules Applied Locally (NO TEE RULE) All pupils must bowl overarm.5 bowls per player, rotate after a player has had 5 bowls.1 0 bowls per batting pair.If after 2 OVERARM BOWLS that are deemed unhittable (wide or no ball) the bowler may complete an underarm bowlIf a bowler then cannot provide a good bowl, they should take 1-2 steps forward of the crease closer to the batter and bowlWides and No balls Please make sure you are using your discretion with this. We want to allow some leniency to ensure it is fair and enjoyable for all, and remember this is for the pupils.
