Take a gentle break and join Saskia at Gallery 1855. This is a soothing, creative session in our cosy studio, surrounded by artwork and nature. Nourish your wellbeing, connect with your baby, and create a unique keepsake to cherish. What to expectA welcoming space for you and your baby where all feeding methods are supported.All materials provided.Wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little clay on.No prior experience needed - this is about creativity, not perfection.You're encouraged to bring along a partner, support person or grandparent to join in and help with the pottery.Create up to three hand-built clay works, time permitting.Your ceramic creations will be taken to a local kiln to fire them. They will be returned to the Gallery for you to collect at a later date.About SaskiaSaskia is a registered midwife and ceramic artist with a deep passion for nurturing both parents and creativity. Living locally, she has supported countless new parents on their journey and understands the importance of gentle, enriching experiences in early parenthood. This workshop series is subsidised by the City of Tea Tree Gully to support access to high-quality arts experiences for our community.

Do you love embroidery, creativity, and good conversation? Join Stitch & Yarn, a monthly stitching group led by community and textile artist Michelle Jahn. In these relaxed sessions, you'll learn to embroider onto personal photographs, giving old holiday snaps or meaningful pictures a fresh, artistic twist using colourful threads and unique techniques. As you develop your embroidery skills, you’ll have the chance to showcase your work in an exhibition at Gallery 1855 in June and July. Participation is completely optional, join just for the joy of stitching if you prefer!
