Starting at the toll house the walk will go along the Severn, through Ironbridge, and then up a tramway across Strethill. Upon reaching the top the walk will take a winding track, up and down, through dingles and fields allowing the true beauty of mother nature to be taken in. Once the cemetery is reached we will come back into Ironbridge along the top and gently come down through the gardens past the furnaces and back to the Toll house. Grade of Walk: Moderate Length: 8 miles Pace: Steady Terrain: Mixed Steps and Stiles: Flights of steps up and down and a couple of stiles Dog Friendly: NO Walk Leader: Mike Philips Specific Walk Information: Muddy, slippery and possibly overgrown Essential Information for Walkers: All walks take place within the Ironbridge Gorge which will naturally include uphill and downhill sections. Please come prepared for the walk, with water, drinks, snacks and lunch as appropriate as it is not possible to purchase items on route. Good walking boots/shoes are essential and be prepared for wet or sunny weather- possibly both in the same day! Children ( Under 18’s ) are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult with parental responsibility and be capable of the distance, pace and duration of the walk. Please allow plenty of time to reach your event, parking can be tricky in the gorge! It is possible to reach Ironbridge via public transport but there are limited services. Medals are available for anyone completing 25,50,75 or 100 miles over 3 or more walks during the festival and if you complete over 150 miles you will receive our new Cartman Challenge medal – it has been done!!!.
