This special celebration of the Mango will feature dozens of participating small farms and nurseries who will have many varieties of delicious locally grown mango fruit available for purchase, and many grafted mango trees in pots and various other tropical fruits and trees. There will also be vendors offering mango products, as well as suppliers specializing in helpful agricultural tools for gardeners and commercial growers alike.
The University of Florida/IFAS educational program will offer public lectures and discussions throughout the day on important topics related to growing mangos in Florida. Whether you are new to mangos or an experienced grower, this program will provide valuable information that will enhance your success in growing abundant and high quality fruit.
A master display showcasing the hundreds of varieties of mangos found in Florida will be found in the Exhibit Hall for the public to view in person the incredible vast range of mango cultivars that exist here.
Tasting tickets are expected to be available for guided mango tasting programs for those wanting to experience and learn about the amazing range of flavors mango fruit have to offer. These tickets will be separate from the event tickets, and made available closer to the week of the event. Availability will depend on the supply of ripe mangos at that time.
Other features will include an ID Your Mango Booth, and a scion exchange for online mango community members.
Do you have a great seedling mango? Another exciting feature will be our mango seedling evaluation booth. If you have a special mango seedling and you would like to know what a panel of experts thinks about it, bring the fruit to the event (maximum 2 varieties per person). Presentation Description:
Eating disorders are complex psychiatric conditions associated with increased morbidity and mortality. Recognizing eating disorders and knowing what level of care is indicated can go a long way in helping patients receive the help they need. The purpose of this presentation is to provide education about the wide variability of eating and feeding disorders, focusing on how to identify an eating disorder, the medical complications that can arise, the psychology behind the development and persistence of the disorder, and best practices for treatment. Attendees should feel empowered to better understand complications of eating disorders in patients and feel more confident in recommending appropriate treatment options.
Objectives:
Following this presentation, participants will be able to…
Describe medical complications, psychological symptoms, and best treatment practices for anorexia nervosa restricting subtype, anorexia nervosa binge eating/ purging subtype, atypical anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and ARFID
Recognize why eating disorders might develop following bariatric surgery or misuse of GLP-1 agonists and know warning signs and treatment recommendations for these atypical cases
Identify the different levels of care in eating disorder treatment and how medical and psychological indications drive decisions regarding the appropriate level of care
Presenters:
Allison Nitsch, MD, FACP, CEDS-C
Allison Nitsch, MD, FACP, CEDS-C completed Internal Medicine Residency and Chief Residency at University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine. She works as Lead hospitalist at ACUTE Center for Eating Disorders at Denver Health, a medical stabilization unit for people 15 and older with severe eating disorders. She currently serves as co-chair for the Academy of Eating Disorders Medical Care Standards Committee and is a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist- Consultant (CEDS-C). She is passionate about educating others on the medical complications of severe eating disorders, an often neglected topic in undergraduate and graduate medical training.
Kamila M. Cass, Ph.D., CEDS-S
Dr. Kamila Cass, PhD, CEDS-S, completed her master’s and Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Missouri-Columbia and her predoctoral psychology residency at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Dr. Cass has worked with eating disorders for many years, in several settings, including private practice, hospital programs, community clinics, and college counseling centers. Dr. Cass has also worked on a bariatric surgical team, designing the pre-surgical psychological evaluation process, and providing support to patients undergoing bariatric surgery. Dr. Cass has worked as a psychologist at the ACUTE Center for Eating Disorders and Severe Malnutrition for the past six years and is the lead developer of the ARFID Track, overseeing a multidisciplinary team of providers dedicated to providing individualized, evidence-based treatment to patients with ARFID. Dr. Cass is an Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and is active in research and publishing and has been a featured speaker at national and international conferences for eating disorders.

As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Eating Recovery Center and Pathlight Mood & Anxiety Center is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (

) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 3 clinical continuing education credit.
Commission on Dietetic Registration (
CDR
): Completion of this RD/DTR profession-specific or IPCE awards CPEUs (One IPCE credit + One CPEU). If the activity is dietetics-related but not targeted to RDs or DTRs, CPEUs may be claimed which commensurate with participation in contact hours (One 60-minute hour = 1 CPEU). RDs and DTRs are to select activity type 102 in their Activity Log. Sphere and Competency selection is at the learner’s discretion. Attendees who complete this course are eligible for 3 CPEU.
