Dive into the wildest, quirkiest twist on Wuthering Heights you’ve ever seen—live and in person! The Strangest Most Wuthering Heights Ever Get ready for a dancing experience like no other! Dive into a wild, twisted take on the classic tale that’s equal parts eerie and hilarious. Don’t miss out on the most unforgettable version of Wuthering Heights you’ll ever see! The Strangest Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever is a choreographed mass dance event inspired by performance collective Shambush’s ‘The Ultimate Kate Bush Experience’ which took place in Brighton back in 2013. At this event Shambush attempted to set a world record for the most people dancing to Wuthering Heights whilst dressed as Kate Bush. After Shambush, The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever events started to take place in various locations around the world, with participants recreating the music video for Kate Bush’s 1978 hit Wuthering Heights. Last year it was held in over 40 countries across the world, this year we are bringing it to the High Peak In the beautiful setting of High Lea Park, New Mills, we are combining the dramatic, theatrical spirit of Wuthering Heights with the Upside Down eerie, sci-fi aesthetic of Stranger Things. Participants wear red, ideally a dress, but you can choose to incorporate an 80’s Stranger Things look, we’re thinking distressed denim or leather jackets, highline baseball boots, bad perms…. All the funds we raise will go to – Blythe House Hospice- a charity that is dear to us all in the High Peak. In fact so many wanted to help us it has been very humbling! The team from New Mills Leisure Centre will be there on the day and are going to build the dance choreography into their zumba sessions on the run up to the session. Frank Lupo is our top DJ for the event; he will be playing an avant garde mix of 80's style synth pop music, featuring songs from Stranger Things as well as the iconic Wuthering Heights. New Mills Festival folk are helping with equipment. TheMusicLicence have kindly sponsored the event music licence. If you are new to New Mills you will be welcomed with open arms,and great bars and eateries. If it is raining we will put on see through pac a macs, gather, practice and dance and then you are free to celebrate in town. Ticket info & event rules · No entry without a ticket (including children) · All children under 14 to be accompanied by an adult · No ticket resales, tickets are non-refundable · Please bring your own picnic. There is a water fountain within the park to re-fill your bottles. · We will not be providing food or alcohol, you may consume your own alcohol. · Please ensure you remove your litter. · No umbrellas whilst dancing · No dogs · No smoking or vaping whilst dancing · Please find a marshal (in High Viz) in the event of injury, illness, or any other concern · No gazebos / shelters · Event is capped at 350 participants · St John’s Ambulance staff will be in attendance · Sensible shoes advised for dancing on uneven ground As a condition of attending and purchasing tickets for the event, participants agree the following waivers: I acknowledge and agree that I participate in the New Mills Strangest Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever (SMWHDE) event at my own risk. I release and indemnify SMWHDE organisers, or corporations associated directly or indirectly with the conduct of the event, from and against all claims, liabilities, injury, loss or damage I may suffer or incur arising from or connected with my participation in this event. I grant full permission for the organisers and media to use photographs, film or video footage of me participating in SMWHDE event and surrounding activities, promotion of this or similar events in the future or in relation to relevant fundraising activities.
