Recharge and re-energise candle lit sound journey & gong bath - Bournemouth | The Old School House Boscombe

Boscombe
Recharge and re-energise candle lit sound journey & gong bath - with Robin Freeman
Friday 2nd of May
7.30pm - 9.00pm
Bournemouth
Come and join us for a deeply meditative and immersive sound journey and gong bath experience with Robin Freeman.
These sessions provide a safe space where you can come to relax, unwind, and just let go… An opportunity for self-healing, and for restoration of mind, body, and soul.
Every session is a unique experience, and each week we work with different themes, directions, and intentions.
During our busy everyday lives, we often forget to take some time out to recharge. During this particular session we will be doing exactly this. Taking some well-deserved time out, just for you. Some much needed time to re-energise mind, body, and soul.
Unless we gift ourselves with these opportunities, we are at risk of burning ourselves out.
I will create a beautiful setting for you to pause, be present, and relax, as I guide you through this immersive journey that will leave you feeling refreshed, recharged and revitalised.
I am a sound healing practitioner, a gong master and a meditation guide. During my session's i like to combine all of these to create a very unique and immersive sound journey and gong bath experience.
I work with a wide variety of healing instruments and tools that have been very carefully selected from many different countries around the world. When combined, these can directly and positively affect mood, brain waves, the nervous system, and body chemistry, with fantastic and profound results.
The sounds and vibrations that are created in these sessions stimulate the body to recreate its own harmonic frequency and help produce the alpha waves that are present within our brains whilst in a state of deep relaxation. All you need to do is come along, lay down, and relax, as I guide you along a deeply meditative journey.
These sessions can help with issues such as stress, anxiety, sleep disorders, depression, digestion, chakra realignment and energy flow. They also create a perfect opportunity to set new intentions or release any burdens that you no longer wish to carry.
My sound journeys are also a great way to cleanse from any negative energy and emotional blockages.
The average Human being consists of approximately 60% water. Water serves to conduct sound waves. During a sound journey these sound waves and vibrations create ripples that gently reverberate over and over. These circulate around and through-out the entire body to calm, relax and soothe. As a result of this it is common for the heart rate to slow down, the blood pressure to drop, and the breath to become calm, peaceful, and return to its natural rhythm. Once the session ends, it is common for attendees to feel very relaxed and then enjoy a lovely deep sleep that night, followed by a feeling of refreshment once you awaken the next day.
During these sessions, along with a large selection of healing instruments and tools, I also use several very special gongs. These have been carefully chosen and induce a holistic resonance in the body and a spontaneous meditative state in the mind, resulting in a sense of expanded awareness and wholeness. This is both restorative and healing. It is just what our body, mind and soul needs to restore, refresh and revitalise.

Food for Thought with The Spark: Strengthening Our Local Food Community
How can we support our local food community so that it, in turn, nourishes the BCP (Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole) community- both in terms of health and economy?
This inspiring and down-to-earth gathering is all about exploring practical ways to ensure that good food is accessible, sustainable, and beneficial for all. We’re not here for an academic debate; we’re here to bring together real people- parents, food lovers, local producers, farmers, chefs, and nutritionists who care about what they eat and where it comes from.
In collaboration with Claire King, a respected nutrition expert with decades of experience in education, we’ll be hosting a lively and engaging panel discussion featuring local food producers, chefs, nutrition specialists and many other interesting guests
Together, we’ll explore:
• How local food systems can better serve families and schools
• The role of small producers in supporting a healthier community
• Ways to make nutritious, local food more accessible and affordable
• How food connects us all- socially, culturally, sustainably, and economically
This is a chance to be part of an exciting, growing conversation. Whether you’re a parent, a food business owner, a chef, or simply someone who cares about where their food comes from, this event is for you.
Come along, be inspired, and help shape a thriving local food movement that benefits us all, in partnership with The Spark.

How Speed Dating Works in Bournemouth
When you arrive at the Bournemouth venue you will be greeted by our friendly professional hosts. Once everyone has arrived and registered we will briefly explain the format of the evening. The ladies will then be asked to make their way to their allocated table. Once the ladies are seated the gentlemen will be asked to proceed to their first date.
You will have 4 minutes to chat to each date, once the 4 minutes is over we will ring a bell to indicate the time is up and for the gentlemen to move to their next date. Four minutes is long enough to see if you click with the person you are talking to and whether you would like to see them again and also short enough if you don't.
At the end of each date you have a brief few moments to make some notes on the person you have just dated. This is something to help jog your memory for the post event matching process the next day.
Half way through the event you will have an interval break so you can nip to the toilet or top up your drink. May 2025 | 11:00 – 13:30
Take a walking tour around Bournemouth to discover a wealth of interesting architecture. You’ll visit the town’s first house (built 1812), the BCP Civic Centre that was originally a luxury spar hotel (1885) as well as buildings in the historic Square, which is actually round!
We’ll examine the Echo newspaper building, a fine purpose-built Art Deco headquarters (1932) and a hotel that survived a compulsory purchase order and succeeded in keeping its seafront site intact, forcing the local council to alter its plans for the Bournemouth International Centre (1984). Our walk will begin by the pier with its interesting theatre building designed by award-winning architect Elisabeth Scott (1960) and beside the site of the Imax Cinema, now demolished, that was one of the most hated structures ever built in Bournemouth. On this tour we will also pass by Bobby's, the department store highlighted in our report

Ultimate Relaxation And Restorative Sound Journey & Gong Bath - Southbourne | The Amethyst Cave Southbourne
May 18, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Bournemouth
Ultimate Relaxation & Restorative Candle lit Sound Journey & Gong Bath.
With Robin Freeman
Sunday 18th of May
7.30pm - 9.00pm
Southbourne
Come and join us for a deeply meditative and immersive sound journey and gong bath experience with Robin Freeman.
These sessions provide a safe space where you can come to relax, unwind, and just let go… An opportunity for self-healing, and for restoration of mind, body, and soul.
Every session is a unique experience, and each week we work with different themes, directions, and intentions.
This particular session will be aimed towards complete relaxation of the mind, body and soul.
A chance to gift yourself some self-love and magical ‘you time’.
This experience will be soothing, peaceful, meditative, and calming.
A time to go within oneself.
A time for reflection if you so choose.
A chance to quieten a busy mind.
A chance to completely let go of everything and just ‘be’.

About The Orchard Garden
The Orchard Garden was built during the 2015 refurbishment of TOSH. For years the garden contained just four fruit trees, with spring bulbs and wildflowers growing up each Summer. The garden was plain and under-used, but had lots of potential.
With thanks to two years funding from the People’s Health Trust, with money raised through Health Lottery South West, in January 2023 we consulted with our community and commissioned a new garden design by a local Landscape Architect who works with communities.
Our garden theme is '
Food for Us, Food for Nature
' and it is to be a sanctuary to work, rest, learn, grow and harvest in.
With the support of our volunteers, from our neighbourhood and our refugee community, we built the garden over 2023 to 2024. To ensure a low impact on nature we used recycled materials such as donated reclaimed bricks to build pathways and seating with minimal concrete.
Our community at The Old School House created terracotta tiles to decorate the seating circle, and the our Threads women's workshop sewed seat cushions and bunting for us. Local charity Faithworks and their workshop team created a beautiful seat arbour, and our second bench is made from recycled plastic. We planted 14 new fruit trees and climbers, wildflowers and bulbs, added espalier supports and arches and finished building and planting the garden in July 2024.
At our open day we were joined by over 100 people from our community to celebrate the hard work of our volunteers who together created our new orchard garden. Our community now use our garden daily for lunch and quiet time, chats and meeting breakouts or to work and think in the fresh air. Our neighbours come to run, play ,forage and explore nature.
This project has been made possible with funding from the People’s Health Trust using money raised by Health Lottery South West. We have also received donations from JPMorgan, Wessex Water and more.
Every Monday afternoon, 1.30pm-3pm, TOSH provides
free
Nature Crafts & Gardening workshops for our diverse community in Boscombe.
If you or anyone you know would benefit from this welcoming and inclusive space, please contact our Garden Coordinator
melinda@recreatedorset.co.uk

Once all the dates are over you have the opportunity to stay on at the venue to mingle freely with others. Please remember to take your dating card home with you to assist you in entering in your ticks and potential matches.

Let's go on a herb walk! | Slades Farm
May 25, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Bournemouth
Join us for a local excursion into nature and learn about medicinal herbs and trees.
In May, spring is buzzing with energy and the lush green world is singing brightly. What about spending a Sunday morning on an inspiring herb walk, to follow Claire, local medical herbalist, in discovering the medicinal herbs growing just on your doorstep? We'll walk around the park and study at least 10 different seasonal medicinal plants, their properties, and how to use them.
The walk takes 2 hours at a slow pace. We may be walking on narrow paths and the terrain could be uneven in places so wearing appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes might be considered. The event is weather dependent and may need to be postponed.
Tickets include a tasting of a selection of herbal tinctures and pdf guide of the herbs we have studied.
Meeting point at 9:55 by Slades Park Pavilion (cafe). Parking on Ensbury Avenue or in Slades Farm Car Park. Max 15 people.
Come along and explore our natural heritage with us! This event is perfect for nature lovers and those interested in herbal medicine. See you there!
