The Gallerie dell’Accademia di Venezia is pleased to announce the exhibition Amazement, Reality, Enigma. Pietro and the Painting of 17th Century in Venice, which will take place from September 19 2025 to January 18 2026. Curated by Francesco Ceretti, Michele Nicolaci e Filippo Piazza, the exhibition introduces the general public to the Brescian painter Pietro Bellotti (1625–1700), who spent most of his career in Venice. Though still relatively unknown, Bellotti’s work is undeniably fascinating, the exhibition aims to position him within the extraordinary artistic context of seventeenth-century Venetian painting.
Manu-Facture: The Ceramics of Lucio Fontana | Peggy Guggenheim Collection
In fall 2025, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection presents Manu-Facture: The Ceramics of Lucio Fontana, organized by art historian and independent curator Sharon Hecker. The show is the first museum exhibition to focus exclusively on Lucio Fontana’s (1899–1968) rich corpus of ceramic works and will provide an exceptional testament to the artist’s creative imagination in sculpture. With about seventy works, on loan from public and private collections, including previously unexhibited pieces, the exhibition encompasses a broad range of subjects—from human figures to animals, harlequins, warriors, as well as abstract forms. While some sculptures emphasize the organic nature of the medium, others are glazed with bright and intense colors. Some were produced in series, while others are unique objects. The show also features photographic documentation of Fontana at work and reveals the importance of the artist’s hand in the creative process.

Dogi's Half Marathon | Dolo
Dogi’s Half Marathon was born from the intuition of some members of the then Libertas Mira that training on these roads discovered that the distance between the two bridges of Stra and Mira on the Brenta river, is exactly the classic distance of the half marathon of 21,097 meters. The municipalities of Stra, Fiesso d’Artico, Dolo and Mira of that time, they readily agreed to support the initiative, making sure that each year, one of the four municipalities became headquarters of origin and destination, making, in this respect the Marathon of the Doges unique in the world. The first edition came from Stra in 1998.The twentieth edition of the “Dogi’s Half Marathon”, the important competitive track event of the Brenta Riviera, will take place April 9, 2017, starting and finishing from Fiesso d’Artico, touching the towns of Stra, Mira and Dolo. The event made its own important role, not only among the Venetian sports events, but also among the cultural events in general. Today, in fact, it is recognized as one of the moments of greatest importance for the whole of the Brenta Riviera. Thanks to the contribution of the four municipalities involved, the event can look with confidence to the next editions, are important contributions because they realize how important this event for the community. The organizational machinery is complex, articulated and how many people are generous in their passion on the pitch free of charge, the event costs, and it is important to be able each year to grow, to improve, to always offer year after year, a product renovated and in step with the needs of athletes.
