The Fire in the Kitchen tournament is an annual fundraising pickleball event for firefighters with cancer. This years proceeds will go to Ashland Fire and Rescue's own Daniel Caples who was diagnosed earlier this year with cancer presumed to be caused by his work as a firefighter. Looking to play some kickball, but can't gather enough people to play? Want to play a sport with fun people, but don't want to commit to playing a whole season? Looking to get active without the competitiveness that often comes with joining leagues? Enjoy playing in a co-ed environment? We've got you covered! Winter Warrior Kickball was created specifically with individual players in mind--no need to pay for a whole team and beg your hesitant friends to join! All players are registered as individuals. Teams will be assigned the day prior to the event, and we'll play 1-2 games depending on the weather. The grand prize? Having fun! Whether you are a beginner or an expert kickballer, this event is all about allowing everyone to play in a non-competitive, fun environment. Why? Because at West Town Social Club, we're all about having a good time! This event will be co-ed, so that everyone has a chance to play. Most standard recreational kickball rules will apply, and the rules will be sent in detail via email prior to the event. AFTER PARTY: A fun post-tournament celebration will take place after the games finish at My Buddy's, just down the street from the park! However, event credit may be issued on a case-by-case basis up to 14 days prior to the tournament. Additionally, if weather causes this outing to be postponed, those who are unable to attend on the rescheduled date will receive credit towards future West Town Social Club events if they notify the organizer within 48 hours WAIVER: All participants will be asked to sign a digital waiver prior to arrival, agreeing that West Town Social Club will not be held liable for any injuries and/or illness associated with participating in kickball.
