This in-person event in a small group of 6 is perfect for beginners and seasoned painters alike. Learn how to create vibrant and unique abstract watercolour pieces with Anjana. You will explore various methods of mark making whilst familiarising with the medium of watercolour. Anjana will then talk you through ways of converting photographic references into an abstract composition. You will need to bring your own paper, paints and brushes. Welcome to our Spring flowers in watercolour workshop! Join us at Yellow Wood Cafe for a creative and relaxing session where you can let your artistic side shine. This in-person event in a small group of 6 is perfect for beginners and seasoned painters alike. The session is designed to get you excited about the wonderful medium of watercolour, appreciate the mindfulness aspect of the practice and equip you with lots of valuable tips to help you with your future paintings. Fresh flowers and reference photos will be available on the day to draw inspiration from. The workshop will begin with analysing shapes of individual flowers in various stages from bud to fully open and we will take note of how the flowers are lit by ambient light. Anjana will then demonstrate how to capture these elements in watercolour, following which you will create your own version. You will need to bring your own paper, paints and brushes. Suggested list of materials will be sent by email once a booking has been made. Cost £40 including refreshments
