Bill Rauch, the inaugural Artistic Director of The Perelman Center for the Performing Arts (PAC NYC) at the World Trade Center, has a distinguished career in the theater industry. The Richard Lloyd Memorial Judo Competition is back for its third edition, showcasing the best of judo talent while also supporting a noble cause. All proceeds from the event will be donated to charity. To participate, competitors must have a current BJA or Affiliate VALID licence and present their card and book during the weigh-in process. Please note that this is a development event, and players who have previously entered into level 3 competitions will not be accepted. The competition is divided into different categories, starting with the Red + Yellow Novice section for boys and girls, followed by the Orange Belts category. Technical restrictions apply in these categories, with no armlocks or strangles allowed. The Kyu Grades category is open to males and females, with armlocks and strangles permitted. The minimum age requirement for all categories is 14 on the day of the competition. Weigh-in times vary for each category, and a weigh-in allowance of 0.8kg is provided for all participants. Contest durations also differ based on belt levels, ranging from 3 minutes for Red & Yellow Belts to 4 minutes for Kyu Grades. Groupings will be determined on the day according to age and grade for Red & Yellow Belts. Please be aware that photographs may be taken during the event for promotional purposes, including publication on websites. By completing an entry form, you indicate your acceptance of these conditions. Parents, in the absence of any expressed objection, provide their consent for the taking and use of photos/videos. Flash photography is not permitted, and participants are required to wear a white judogi. Blue and white belts should be brought by the players themselves.
