Artist-in-residence Delaine Le Bas opens the doors to her studio at The White House in Dagenham and invites you inside for an informal tour of her work, along with curator Kieran Swann. Le Bas has been developing a vibrant, immersive installation which explores Roma & Traveller experiences and identities. This special studio tour is a chance to speak with the artist herself and to get a glimpse behind the scenes ahead of the exhibition opening in March. The project is titled “Atchin Tan at The White House”, using the Romany phrase that translates to “stopping place” in English. Le Bas' work aims to challenge existing narratives about Roma & Traveller cultures and to reimagine how they are seen and celebrated. The developing work explores the diversity within these often misunderstood communities. Le Bas has been particularly focused on exploring the idea of what it means to be the 'stranger'; experiences of being excluded and erased from the archives; and how diverse experiences layer and differ. Join us to find out more. Open from 2-5pm, Free Come and go as you please! Information Source: The White House | eventbrite
