Discover a wonderful world of soft or spiky with your baby. What question would you want your baby to answer? What would you like them to ask you? In a world full of astonishing unknowns and surprising possibilities, how do you find the right answers or questions? This playful and interactive new show is full of shapes, sounds, textures and words exploring different ways to connect and understand each other. Inspired by heartfelt conversations with new parents, this humorous production explores the multiple ways we communicate, ensuring that no one is left out. Devised and directed by Daryl Beeton, Soft or Spiky? is a Polka Theatre and Half Moon co-production: an exciting collaboration by two of the UK’s leading children’s venues and touring companies. The performance lasts 30 minutes. At the end of the performance there is a 15 minute stay and play session where audiences can enter the sensory landscape of the production. This show has very limited language. This makes it accessible to a range of people, including d/Deaf, hard of hearing and non-English speakers. Please purchase a ticket for each child and adult attending. Additional siblings under 3 months old are free and don’t require a ticket.

Bad Art Night | 3224 S Emerson Ave
Feb 20, 2025 (UTC-5)ENDED
Emerson
Bad Art Night at Art of the Heart Studio is a unique and liberating experience aimed at breaking free from the conventional expectations associated with art creation. The event encourages participants to embrace the act of making art without being overly concerned about achieving a traditionally pretty outcome. It is an opportunity for individuals to tap into their creative selves and explore the magic of spontaneous expression. Guided by an art therapist and inspired by the book Life, Paint and Passion: Reclaiming the Magic of Spontaneous Expression by Michele Cassou & Stewart Cubley, Bad Art Night provides a supportive environment for those who may feel held back by core beliefs about their artistic abilities. The emphasis is on the process of creation rather than the final result, allowing participants to enjoy the freedom of artistic expression. This event is not exclusive to seasoned artists; it welcomes anyone with a love for the power of art or those looking to rediscover their creative potential. It's an inclusive space where individuals can carve out time in their lives to engage with art in a meaningful and personal way. By offering a departure from the pressure of perfection and embracing the joy of the creative process, Bad Art Night at Art of the Heart Studio invites participants to unleash their artistic instincts, fostering a deeper connection with their own creativity.
