Kuhner Shaker Summer Symposium & Mini Conference | Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine
Jun 11, 2025 (UTC-7)
San Diego
Welcome to the Kuhner Shaker Symposium and Mini Conference!
Join us on
Wed J
une 11th
at the
Hyatt Regency - La Jolla
for a full scientific program with seminars from industrial partners and guest speakers. Ample networking and learning opportunities are included and we will also be showcasing our newest automated shaker, the MPS-Z.
Don't miss out on this event where industry experts share their knowledge and experience alongside theoretical and practical applications guidance from technology developers. Whether you're a seasoned professional or just starting out in the field, there's something for everyone at the Kuhner Shaker Symposium and Mini Conference.
Who should participate?
In addition to the scientific program and networking opportunities, the symposium will be particularly useful to those cultivating mammalian and microbial cells using shakers. This includes cell biologists, bioengineers, cell culture and fermentation scientists, chemical engineers in research and development, process development, technology transfer and associated management roles.
We will review how adjustments made to shaker attributes (e.g. speed, diameter, humidification), vessel attributes (e.g. size, shape, fill volume, feeding, construction material, baffling systems, closure shape and type) and vessel selection (e.g. well plates, tubes, flasks, bioreactors) must be considered together. We will discuss how changes to any of these variables impact the scalability of cultivation results.
For 2025 we will be further focusing on automation of shaker-scale cultivations and will highlight innovations in automation and control of your workflows.
On completion of the symposium, participants will have a thorough understanding of how to impact desired changes in mixing times, kLa and shear stress (incl. liquid velocity) across a multiple cultivation system. No advanced training necessary. Knowledge about your current cultivation practices and culture needs will be helpful during question-and-answer periods.
