You’ll improve your strength, balance, and flexibility through walking intervals and exercises in a supportive environment. Developed by a kinesiologist, Walking to Wellness is designed to make fitness enjoyable and achievable for everyone. It offers gradual, personalized training to help you build fitness, strength, and endurance based on your unique abilities and goals. This session is free to attend and runs every Wednesday Night at the Bear Creek Park Walking Track in Surrey We will meet in at the walking track. Look for the volunteers in the Kidney Foundation Lanyards. Dress for the weather as we will be walking outside on the track. The session starts with a warm up activity that is adaptable to anyone's ability and then we will start our walking intervals that are adjustable to a pace you are comfortable with. What is It's a Scavenger Hunt!? This Scavenger Hunt is a family friendly activity played by following instructions provided on your mobile device by the in-game host. Fill your virtual scavenger sack with the items you help choose through riddle-like clues! Explore your surroundings, attempting to quickly locate a variety of items as they are revealed one at a time by your game master. What time does this start and finish? Parents from all areas are welcome to attend this solution-oriented support meeting. Come meet other parents who have autistic children, discuss your pressing issues, and find community and support. The focus of this meeting will be on supporting parents and providing information to them about autism treatment, starting and running a home-based ABA program and any other questions you may have. This meeting will take place in person in a private home. RSVP for the address. This meeting is hosted by experienced parent, Louise Witt . Louise is a registered social worker and parent of two young adult children. Since her son was diagnosed with autism at the age of 2, she has been actively involved in the autism community and was a founding member of the Autism Support Network. Within the ASN, Louise does a great deal of volunteer outreach work with parents in crisis. Louise was also a member of the Pacific Autism Family Network steering committee. ArtLift Festival Brings Community Together Through Creativity on April 19 [Surrey, April 19th 2025] – Art lovers of all ages are invited to experience a vibrant day of creativity, connection, and community at the ArtLift Festival, taking place on Saturday, April 19, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Pacific Community Church. This family-friendly event celebrates the power of art to unite and inspire, offering hands-on experiences for everyone, from budding young artists to seasoned creatives. The ArtLift Festival features five student-led interactive art stations , each designed to spark curiosity and encourage self-expression. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore a variety of artistic mediums, including gouache and acrylic painting, character design, and comic strip creation. Guided by student artists and enthusiastic volunteers, participants of all skill levels can immerse themselves in the creative process.
