Beaverton
A fun and supportive hybrid in person and "virtual" song circle to practice projection, voice control and coordination through the joy of singing! Each session will start with a practice vocal warm-up and then sing your favorite songs with guitar accompaniment.
Next session is May22nd at 2:00-3:00pm
Instructors:
Kera Magarill
is trained in classical cello, music therapy and improvisational singing and she loves community music-making. She has led “Choir for the Tone Deaf”, a program for community singing for the Denver Public Libraries and she was the creative director for “The Dementors: An Alzheimer’s Association Band”. She currently works for Washington County Disability, Aging and Veteran Services in Older Adult Behavioral Health and is deeply interested in the relationship between music and mood.
Michelle Garratt’s
vocal background includes 10 years of choirs, 8 years of professional band performance, and college level vocal training in addition to teaching voice and movement for 10 years. Michelle continues to sing and teach since her own diagnosis of PD because she knows the importance of keeping the joy of music alive while exercising her vocal cords. Michelle had the privilege of learning some wonderful teaching techniques specific to people with PD this year from Judi Spencer at the World Parkinson’s Congress in Kyoto, Japan. Michelle encourages us to make a joyful noise.
Jill Williams
is a social worker with Multnomah County. She has been playing guitar since college and is mostly self taught. Jill enjoys singing and playing in small groups with other acoustic players, at open mics and back yard parties. Her musical interests are diverse with a heavy emphasis on 70's-80's rock, pop and folk music. She also loves Americana and good ole country music. Her friends call her "B-side" because of her tendency to pick deep cuts and lesser know songs from popular bands! Jill has enjoys the gang from PRO and looks forward to when she can sit in a song circle with all of you.

With your Host:
Evan Dubois!
Raised in Quinte West, Evan is a 24 year old Comic that performs all over Canada.
He recorded his debut album at the world famous Comedy Bar Toronto at the age of only 22! He's been featured at Just for Laughs Toronto, The Toronto Fringe Festival, The TO Sketch fest, Philly Sketch Fest, The Georgian Bay Comedy Festival, and frequently does work for companies like Yuk Yuks!
With his mix of stories, observations and songs; and material that Parton and Pearl described as, "pristinely crafted juvenility", there is always something for everyone!
Find him on Instagram @evanduboiscomedy !
And your Featuring Acts:
Megan Myke!
Megan Myke cut her comedy teeth in Toronto starting in 2010 before taking a few years off to ruin her life with two kids and a divorce. Now living in Hamilton as a single mom and comedian she is absolutely destroying Sad Girl Bingo.
Megan's comedy covers everyday areas of life alongside social commentary with the flare for the absurd (and disgusting). Get ready to laugh, cry, cringe, and laugh again!
Ryan Visser!
Ryan Visser is a GTA-based comedian, improviser, and award-winning Filmmaker. His comedic sensibilities lean toward absurdist approaches to dark subject matter. In other words, he's a sick person and a silly goose. He is the Co-Producer of the Breakpoint Comedy.
& Marc Hallworth!
Marc has been described as "too poor for how happy he is." Originally from Calgary, Marc moved to Toronto in 2009 and, with his debut album “Happy Pappy” being played regularly on SiriusXM, has since been part of JFL42, NXNE, and the Jersey City Comedy Festival. He is a rostered comedian with Yuk Yuk's, was the winner of the Folk N' Comedy Best Set Competition, was the second place winner of the 2017 Flat Tire Comedy Competition, and a semi-finalist in the 2018 Comedy Brawl and 2016 Absolute Comedy “Prove You're A Comic Competition.” He's appeared at the Jimmy Kimmel Comedy Club in Las Vegas, and was chosen to host the Durham Comedy Festival and the Ontario Celebration Zone as part of the 2015 PanAm Games. With material that's not out to offend, his few goofy ideas and personal anecdotes all culminate towards some real optimism!
