Starting November 11th, the Down Syndrome Association of Central Texas (DSACT) and Swift Fit Events will be hosting the DSACT & Swift Fit Events Weekly Run Club in Austin. This run club is open to individuals of all levels, aiming to prepare participants for the Austin Marathon. The club will take place every Saturday from 9 to 10 AM at the YMCA of Austin - Town Lake, located at 1100 West Cesar Chavez Street. Expert run instructors and guides will lead the group along Ladybird Trail, encouraging movement through running, dance-walking, and other motivating activities. The main objective of this inclusive club is to foster healthy habits and build meaningful friendships. Facilitated by instructors from Swift Fit Events and supported by volunteers, the club welcomes anyone interested in joining, including those with Down syndrome and individuals who love someone with Down syndrome. The session will begin with a Circle Up from 9 to 9:15 AM, where participants introduce themselves and find motivation and connection. Following the Circle Up, participants can choose a pace group or continue with their own running plans. To join, simply RSVP and come dressed appropriately for running.
