The Hall Art Foundation in Reading, Vermont is pleased to announce its 2023 Season, featuring a program of rotating, temporary exhibitions of contemporary art. From May through November, visitors are invited to explore the converted galleries, located on a former dairy farm comprising a 19th-century stone farmhouse, three barns, a reception center, and a cafe. With approximately 6,000 sq. feet of museum-quality exhibition space spread across five historic buildings, the Foundation provides a captivating backdrop for the artwork on display.
The picturesque setting includes a waterfall on a tributary of the Black River, surrounded by 400 acres of pastures, hayfields, and woodland. Throughout the grounds, outdoor sculptures by world-renowned artists add an extra dimension to the visitor experience. To make the most of their visit, guests are encouraged to bring personal smartphones or small tablets, as well as headphones, to access additional information via QR codes located throughout the exhibitions.
For refreshments, visitors can enjoy the cafe, offering a selection of sandwiches, salads, baked goods, snacks, bottled beverages, and coffee. Please note that all guests must be accompanied by an adult, and young visitors must either hold the hand of an adult or remain within their physical control at all times. In order to maintain a peaceful and respectful environment, disruptive behavior, including loudness, will not be tolerated.
While the Hall Art Foundation welcomes all to explore the grounds and walking trails, appropriate footwear is recommended. Furthermore, to ensure the safety and preservation of the artwork, certain items such as sharp implements, pens, large handbags, and backpacks are prohibited from the galleries. Smoking is also strictly prohibited throughout the property.
Photography and video are allowed for personal use, and guests are encouraged to share their images on social media using the #hallartfoundation tag. However, the use of flash photography, tripods, selfie-sticks, and telephoto lenses is not permitted without prior approval.
