Two of New Zealand’s premiere singer-songwriters take the stage together for the first time in half a decade. Dave Baxter (Avalanche City) and Luke Thompson met over 20 years ago studying music together in Hamilton and have been friends and collaborators ever since. Following two successful theatre shows in Auckland and Tauranga, the pair are taking their endearing live show to more theatres and special venues around New Zealand. Avalanche City is an NZ Indie-Folk artist with multiple #1 hits. ‘Love, Love, Love’, a hopeful summer anthem, won the 2011 Silver Scroll and became a mainstay of NZ Radio and TV. He’s headlined shows across Europe, US, Australia and NZ. Luke Thompson is a veteran singer-songwriter, touring with artists such as Toto, Passenger, Boy & Bear and The Paper Kites. His 2016 self produced album ‘Hosts’ was nominated for NZ Music award for Best Folk Album. It's more likely that you know him from the Internet, where he has over 100,000 followers and has racked up 100+ million views. He's also gotten three death threats, so you know he's funny. Michael will be expressing opinions on colonialism, assassinations, homophobia, Israel, paedophiles, terrorism and Pauline Hanson. He will also advocate for Indigenous Australians to commit acts of terror. Many of these topics would be considered inappropriate to raise at a family dinner or on a first date. But, in the context of a comedy show, they're actually quite funny. After two years off, Brisbane’s favourite improv duo are back to perform a two-person improvised play with way more than two characters.
