This workshop explores how a focus on making BIG of the small or small of the BIG things can give us great comedy and plenty to work with. Making a big deal of something small or a small deal of something big is a fast and easy way to inspire a comedic scene. No matter how experienced you are as an improviser, seeing comedy in this way can give you plenty to work with, guaranteed laughs, and an easy way to build characters, relationships and heighten the stakes! This super-fun workshop will have you feeling like a comedy superstar! Workshop Length: 3 hours Recommended experience level: Beginner (less than 12 months experience) Participants need to know: There will be some sidecoaching. Meet Lindsay Drummond (she/her) Lindsay is an improvisation coach, teacher, performer, director, and musician. She is known as the ‘Queen of Online Improv’! Is voice an afterthought during scenes or creating characters? This workshop will encourage improvisers to develop and discover characters using their voices and physicality in imaginative ways. NIDA Acting and Voice graduate, Eleanor Stankiewicz, will share her favourite vocal tips, tricks, and tools to help participants bring joy and musicality to their play. Join Eleanor as she shares various exercises and approaches to voice training, drawing from her experience as an actor and long-form improvisation practitioner and facilitator. Explore your voice from the perspective of play. This workshop will be shaped by the offers made by the participants, with a focus on curiosity and spontaneity to encourage freedom of expression. Workshop Length: 2 hours Recommended experience level: Beginner (less than 12 months experience) Participants need to know: This is a physical workshop that is participant-led, so wear something you are comfortable moving in, and bring your water bottle. Actioning and Improvising Presented by Jhi Rayner of Freeroam Theatre (Wagga Wagga) as part of the Big Fork Comedy Festival 2025. Take to the stage as you navigate the actioning, objective, and super objective techniques of one of the fathers of Modern Acting, Konstantin Stanislavski. In this workshop, you will:

The night will feature novelist Nilima Rao, and debut authors Angie Faye Martin and Carla Salmon, in conversation with historical crime fiction author Janet Lee. The $60 price includes a drink and alternate drop main course. Extra drinks can be purchased from our private bar throughout the evening.
