Experience the 5k Beer Run at Rapids Brewing Co as part of the 2024 Minnesota Brewery Running Series. Taking place on Sunday, August 18th in Grand Rapids, MN, participants can run, walk, or jog a scenic course starting and finishing at the Rapids Brewing Company taproom. After completing the course, enjoy a locally-made craft beverage at the finish line. This untimed fun-run welcomes all levels of runners, walkers, and joggers to join in the festivities.
Registration for the event costs between $35 and $50, with each participant receiving a craft brew at the finish line, a collector's pint glass or seasonal swag item, and the chance to win prizes such as Brewery Running Series merchandise. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to local organizations like Run Minnesota. Please remember to bring a valid ID or driver's license, as you must be 21 to enjoy the beer. Join the Aquinas College Contemporary Writers Series on Thursday, November 16 for an exciting evening of literary exploration featuring author Dustin M. Hoffman. Hoffman is an esteemed writer and the winner of the 2015 Prairie Schooner Book Prize for his story collection, One-Hundred-Knuckled Fist. He has also published a second collection called No Good for Digging and a chapbook called Secrets of the Wild. With over ninety of his stories appearing in prestigious magazines such as Black Warrior Review, Saturday Evening Post, and The Threepenny Review, Hoffman's talent is undeniable. Additionally, he is a professor of English at Winthrop University in South Carolina.
The event will take place at 6:00 p.m. on November 16, 2023, at the Kretschmer Recital Hall in the Art & Music Center on the campus of Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
