Contemporary Scene Study Through Experimental Movement & Improvisation (with Devon deGroot/Theatre Lunatico) Tuesday & Thursday evenings, Jan 14th-Feb 6th, 6:30pm-9:30pm (8 classes) We will use movement explorations & improvisational exercises to unlock students’ creative freedom onstage and strengthen connections between scene partners and ensemble. We will work with selected scenes from a singular contemporary play, utilizing both experimental exercises and traditional scene work. This class is appropriate for all levels, as long as students arrive with a strong willingness to play. Please wear dance shoes or lightweight sneakers and comfortable loose or athletic clothing, ideally dark/neutral colors. Class itself can be flexible to many physical needs & limitations, but the class space is unfortunately only accessible via stairs. Some reading & memorization required outside of class.
