Manila will celebrate the Chinese New Year with a series of colorful activities.
Main Events:
Prosperity Tree Lighting Ceremony: On January 24, the celebration will kick off at Plaza San Lorenzo in Binondo with the lighting of the Prosperity Tree, a symbol of good fortune.
New Year Countdown: On January 28 at 11 pm, Jones Bridge will hold a traditional Chinese New Year countdown to welcome the New Year.
Traditional Lion and Dragon Dances: On January 29, The Peninsula Manila will host a traditional lion and dragon dance in the lobby to ward off evil and usher in good fortune.
New Year Parade: At 2pm on January 29, a grand parade will be held in Binondo's Chinatown. The parade will start from the old post office and pass through the main streets, showcasing the rich Chinese culture.
