Indoor Softball - Halls Tournament | David Ross Sports Village

The UoN Softball and Baseball Club are hosting an Indoor Softball tournament at David Ross Sports Village on Sunday 16 February from 5-8pm. The format of the tournament will depend on how many players/teams get involved but you can be sure of a fun evening!! This is a beginner friendly tournament, that is open to ALL - whether you have played before or it's your first time. You can either sign up as an individual (and be allocated into a team on arrival) or select your own team and confirm the team name on registration. If you have any questions, please email daniella.dutton@nottingham.ac.uk -------------------- If you'd like to give Indoor Softball a go BEFORE the tournament, why not come along to one of our Just Play sessions - free for UoN Sport and Fitness Members or just £3.50 for non-members. The University of Nottingham volleyball programme has two teams competing at the highest level of the sport in this country - England Volleyball's Super League! Both of our men's and women's first teams will be taking to the court in back-to-back Headliner weekend fixtures on Saturday 22 February. Support from Red Bull promises an extra special match day experience for spectators and we can't wait for another electric atmosphere courtside! Show your #GreenandGold colours here on campus to begin 2025 in style, and bring the noise to push our volleyball teams to more Headliner victories! The first match of the two at David Ross Sports Village is scheduled to begin at 1pm, with doors to the event set to open at 12.15pm. University of Nottingham Women's 1st Team | 1pm University of Nottingham Men's 1st Team | Approx 4pm The Headliner is an event series, hosted by University of Nottingham Sport and supported by RedBull showcasing our student teams competing at the top levels of university and national sport, and showcases the very best student-athletes in the country. Sporting Wellness This Headliner event will also raise awareness of our partners Sporting Wellness. Sporting Wellness is a registered charity that provides free professional mental health support for all representative sportspeople aged 16 or over, and our partnership ensures that performance athletes and scholars at the University of Nottingham have a completely independent avenue for professional support, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, alongside internal student services. You can support the work Sporting Wellness are doing by donations to their Just Giving page: https://donate.justgiving.com/charity/sportingwellness/donation-amount Carry-in policy Sealed bottles of water and soft drinks, and personal size food items (e.g., a sandwich, crisps, piece of fruit) are all permitted. The National Badminton League continues at the the university, as the competition returns to the courts. The #GreenandGold will hope to start 2025 with a victory against visitors Skyfall. Expect to see an incredibly high level of badminton on campus with the very best players from the University of Nottingham Badminton Club in the squad. Head out onto campus and support the side to victory and enjoy a fantastic night of live sport. The 5 matches on the night will include: 1 x Men's singles match1 x Women's singles match1 x Men's doubles match1 x Women's doubles match1 x Mixed doubles matchDoors open at 6.30pm, with matches scheduled to begin at 7pm. Getting to David Ross Sports Village & Entry The match will take place in the sports hall at David Ross Sports Village with bleacher seating for spectators. Please make sure that you have your ticket QR to hand when entering the facility, as well as your student ID if required. David Ross Sports Village is situated on the University of Nottingham Campus, accessible from the West and North entrances. You can find out more about accessing campus as well as viewing a copy of the campus map here. Head over to the Ninja Warrior courses, where you can really put your obstacle course skills to the test! Welcome to our Abstract painting in watercolour workshop! Join us at Yellow Wood Cafe for a creative and relaxing session where you can let your artistic side shine. This in-person event in a small group of 6 is perfect for beginners and seasoned painters alike. Learn how to create vibrant and unique abstract watercolour pieces with Anjana. You will explore various methods of mark making whilst familiarising with the medium of watercolour. Anjana will then talk you through ways of converting photographic references into an abstract composition. You will need to bring your own paper, paints and brushes.
