Join the Birth of A Fallen Legacy 2nd Annual Gallery Walk Fundraiser, a momentous event that celebrates the life and legacy of Jay Anderson Jr. through the power of art. This inspiring event takes place in Milwaukee, a city that has faced significant challenges for black men and their families. In 2016, the unjust killing of Sylville Smith by a Milwaukee Officer ignited an uprising, known as the Milwaukee Riots or Sherman Park Riots. The media portrayal of the city and those involved painted a picture of criminals and heroes in a dangerous place. The city continues to heal, facing subsequent years of turmoil and loss due to cases of police violence. Sadly, even cases involving officers have often lacked proper accountability, leaving families and community members searching for closure. The Birth of a Fallen Legacy project emerged as a way to heal and bring together the community. By highlighting the stories and legacies of those who have fallen victim to police violence through art, we aim to challenge and reshape the media narrative. This event showcases the work of over 15 talented artists from the city, offering a unique opportunity to experience the lives of the slain alongside their families, community members, and organizations. Through art, we find a voice to tell our stories and seek healing, even when facing our offenders is not possible. We invite you to support this meaningful cause by becoming a sponsor of the Birth of A Fallen Legacy 2nd Annual Gallery Walk Fundraiser. Your contribution will help us continue our mission of raising awareness and promoting healing within our community. Join us at 8700 West Brown Deer Road, Milwaukee, WI 53224 on September 2, 2023, for an unforgettable event. Tickets are available at prices ranging from $25 to $5,000.
