Latest Events in Nago(February Updated)

The festival takes place from late January to mid-February at Nago Central Park, one of Japan's top 100 cherry blossom spots. Other prime locations include Nago Cross Street and Nago Fishing Port when the perfect pink Taiwan cherry blossoms are in bloom. A variety of events are held each year on the main street and temporary stages, including an ice sculpture competition, tuna slaughtering demonstrations, live performances by local musicians, and the Nago Sakura Taiko drum.

The Schwab Warrior Challenge 5k March 2024 MCCS Adult Sports event will take place in Nago at Camp Schwab on March 30, 2024. Participants aged 15 and above from both Okinawa and beyond are welcome to join this exciting event. The race will kick off at 10:00 am, featuring a 5K run with obstacles, including a 400-meter swim in the pool. Registration is open until 10:30 pm on March 27, with an entry fee of $50. All registered participants must check in at the Schwab Medical Center parking lot between 8:30 am and 9:30 am on the event day. A mandatory participant brief will be conducted at 9:35 am. Top three male and female finishers will receive awards. Please note that minors aged 15 to 17 must have a parent or guardian present during the event. Join the Schwab Open 6 v 6 Volleyball Tournament in April 2024 hosted by MCCS Adult Sports at Camp Schwab Powerdome in Nago. The event will take place on the 13th of April, with a registration deadline of 1300 on Monday, 8th April. The entry fee is $175 per team, with eligibility open to all participants aged 16 and above. Teams are limited to 10 players, including a coach, who will be considered part of the player count if they also participate. Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers.
