Forest trail run This trail running adventure is a looped route in the beautiful Llanwynno forest. If you haven’t been before, you’ll not want to miss this one! Gorgeous woodland, a waterfall and some of the best viewpoints in the South Wales Valleys. It’s a lovely flowing route led at a sociable pace. When: Saturday 1st March 2025. Meet at 08:50am for an 09:00am start. Meeting: Llanwynno, RCT (approx. 20 mins from Cardiff). Details on where to meet emailed to runners closer to the day. Distance: Approx. 6 miles / 10km. Terrain: A mixture of fairly firm forest roads and tracks, together with some soft, muddy trails. Difficulty: Easy to moderate. It's a gentle, undulating route led at a sociable run/walk pace, with plenty of stops to catch your breath. There are some climbs but these will be hiked. Pace: We run as a group at a relaxed, sociable pace. Kit: As it's March, runners are required to bring the kit below: A jacket (recommend waterproof)A spare, warm layer (to be kept in running pack)LeggingsTrail shoesGloves and a beanie or buffFully charged mobile phone.500ml of water (minimum) and snacks.A running pack or small rucksack to carry some of the items listed above.We also recommend you bring a spare bag with dry clothes to change into after your run. Demo a Santa Cruz on the incredible trails around Stainbunr Forest! Meeting at Norwood Edge car park, we will get you set up on your chosen bike, you are then free to explore the trail centre for 1.5 hours to really get a feel for the bike.
