This exciting exhibit and auction will showcase Catrina, Aztec/Mayan inspired, Alebrije, and Monarch Butterfly inspired masks. The event will take place at the Firehouse Art Center located at 667 4th Avenue in Longmont, CO 80501 on September 17, 2023.
During the art session, participants will have the opportunity to create their own ceramic mask. Using a ceramic mask mold, attendees will shape and sculpt the mask, adding clay elements such as flowers and butterflies with the score, slip, and smooth technique. Once the masks are completed, they will be fired and ready for painting or glazing. Artists can choose to use acrylic paints or glazes provided by the Firehouse Art Center. If glazed, the masks will undergo a second firing in the kiln.
The masks created during this event will be auctioned off during the Exhibit Opening. Artists will receive 40% of the auction price, with the option to donate a portion back to the Firehouse to support their Art Education outreach programs. This event not only allows participants to express their creativity but also supports the Firehouse Art Center in their mission to educate the community about this cultural celebration.

Join the ARBC Charity Golf Tournament at the Wendell Country Club on September 14, 2023, to support the mission projects of Aversboro Road Baptist Church. This year, ARBC has been actively involved in four main projects: handicap and utility ramp installations, farmers to food initiative, preventative maintenance for senior adults, and appliance and furniture distribution. By participating in this tournament, you will help fund the continuation of these projects and enable us to undertake new community initiatives.
The tournament will begin with check-in and registration at 11:30 AM, followed by a delicious lunch at 12:00 PM. The shotgun start for the best ball play will take place at 1:00 PM. You can expect a challenging and enjoyable round of golf, with a maximum of bogey play allowed on any hole. To enhance your game, a mulligan package is available for $10, which includes two mulligans and one red tee. Please note that the dress code requires collared shirts and long pants or Bermuda shorts. Cut-offs, tank tops, and jeans are not permitted.
There will be exciting prizes for the longest drive and closest to the pin, as well as recognition for the top four teams. Show your support by becoming a hole sponsor for $100 or making a memorial gift of $70. All sponsorships, gifts, and contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. The AIGA Baltimore Community Meeting, named "Community Meeting," is an upcoming event that aims to support the creative community in Towson. This gathering will take place on Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 6 PM to 8 PM at the StarTUp at the Armory, located at 307 Washington Avenue, Towson, MD 21204. This venue serves as Towson University's front door for start-ups, small businesses, and major corporations, offering a state-of-the-art 26,000 sq. ft. space. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with fellow members and non-members, including designers and non-designers alike, who share a common desire to witness the growth and prosperity of our community. The event is especially suitable for newcomers to the area and those interested in becoming involved with AIGA Baltimore or simply curious to learn more about the Baltimore creative community. These Community Meetings are valuable occasions to get acquainted with the vibrant creative scene and expand your network. Additionally, if you are unable to attend in person, a Zoom option is available. Simply make sure to access the Zoom app on your computer, tablet, or mobile device, ensuring you have sufficient bandwidth to support video viewing.
