Connective Fibers showcases a remarkable collection of large-scale fiber sculptures, born from the artist's profound emotional journey during the pandemic. These awe-inspiring creations are meticulously crafted through wet felting, a technique that involves the careful placement of wool fibers followed by a powerful process of shaping the fabric's structure and the sculpture's form. This intricate technique requires both presence and care, mirroring the tools needed for emotional healing. Fiber art has always transcended mere functionality, serving as a powerful medium for storytelling. Mallory Zondag's work beautifully intertwines the narratives of the human body and the natural world, using organic forms as reflections of personal experiences.
