Unfortunately, the Taliban has failed to fulfill its promises of fair governance and respect for human rights. Instead, they have imposed increasingly severe restrictions on Afghan women and girls. In light of these challenges, the Northwestern Roberta Buffett Institute for Global Affairs, the Central Asia Institute, and the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law's Center for International Human Rights cordially invite you to a discussion on Afghanistan's current situation. Delve into the obstacles faced by Afghan girls and women, explore the remaining possibilities for their empowerment, and understand why it is essential for Americans to remain engaged.
