Join the beginner clay workshop at Lazy Goods in Morro Bay for an amazing opportunity to create your own Ceramic Planter! Led by experienced ceramic artist Adriana Lemus from Night Owl Pottery, this one-hour workshop will teach you the basics of working with clay using the slab construction method and decorating through sculpting and texturing. As a bonus, Lazy Goods will provide you with a plant to take home on the day of the workshop!
For just $65, the fee includes everything you need for the workshop, such as white stoneware clay, materials, tools, glaze, and firing. Adriana Lemus will guide you through the process and share her expertise to ensure a successful experience. And that's not all - you'll also be treated to light bites and a glass of wine!
After creating your masterpiece, leave it with Adriana Lemus, who will take it back to her studio in San Luis Obispo for firing, glazing, and a final firing. This process typically takes 4-6 weeks. Once complete, your planter will be brought back to Lazy Goods for pickup.
Adriana Lemus, a Central Coast native, has been working with ceramics for 16 years. Her artistic journey began at UC Berkeley, and since then, she has been running her own business, creating functional and non-functional ceramic vessels. Her work is made to connect with the soul. In addition to teaching private lessons and selling her creations, Adriana is currently working on commission projects for various establishments.

The meeting point is the Lake Anza parking lot in Tilden, Berkeley. This friendly hike is the perfect opportunity to connect with fellow Fieldworkers and enjoy the great outdoors. After the hike, why not head back to the Berkeley taproom for some well-deserved refreshments? Fieldwork recommends trying their Hills & Valleys beer, but you can choose any beer that suits your taste. A Fieldwork representative will be present to lead the hike and welcome participants. If you're coming from the Berkeley taproom, simply head south on Sixth St towards Harrison St, turn left onto Gilman St, left onto Santa Fe Ave, right onto Marin Ave, and continue straight until you reach the destination. The hike will start 15 minutes after 10 am, and latecomers can join along the path. Join the Halloween Kidical Mass bike ride and ice cream truck party in Berkeley on Saturday, October 28th at 1:00pm! This event is a fantastic opportunity for kids to boost their confidence on their bikes while having a great time with family and friends. The previous Kidical Mass ride had an incredible turnout of over 100 riders from all over the East Bay, even in the rain! This time, we're riding the weekend before Halloween, and we encourage participants to wear costumes, although it's not mandatory. After the ride, everyone can enjoy a refreshing treat from the ice cream truck, and there will also be some fruit available. Remember, it's important for kids to wear a helmet while riding, but apart from that, all they need is a bike. This is a no-drop ride, meaning that everyone can ride at their own pace and be a part of the fun. If you have a bell on your bike, get ready to ring it a lot! Join the specialized week for Level 2 All Concentrations, including Surface, Metalwork, Counted, and Needlepainting. This in-person comprehensive studies event, led by Lucy Barter, will take place at the Lacis Museum of Lace and Textiles in Berkeley, CA. The event will run from October 30th to November 3rd, 2023, from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. Stitchers who have completed a Level 1 CSP in any concentration are welcome to attend.
Level 2 of this program focuses on achieving technical excellence in stitch execution. To ensure a successful experience, participants are required to complete pre-work assignments before the course start date. It is important to note that registration for this course closes three days prior to the start date. Late registering students will be responsible for completing the pre-work assignments. However, SFSNAD will try to accommodate late registrations when possible.
Please keep in mind the cancellation policy. SFSNAD will refund a CSP course, minus a $75 processing fee, up to two weeks before the course start date. For cancellations made within two weeks of the start date, participants can transfer their registration to the next available CSP. For cancellations within three days of the course start date, participants may use 50% of the tuition toward another CSP.
