Experience a unique event, Paint-Sip-Chill-Madrid | "Paint Your Pet", on April 25, 2024, in Madrid, NM. Held at the Mad Contemporary Gallery & Art Center on 3 Firehouse Ln, this 2.5-hour class offers a cozy and beginner-friendly environment, inspired by the culture of New Mexico and the Southwest. We are proud to show our new exhibition with works by Hugo Wirz. The artists statement of the show: "You are part of everything and everything is part of you, which someone told me in a dream five years ago, and "Water is fundamental for everything that lives" are two ideas with great weight and importance in my work. Water, transparent and fluid, it reflects everything that is around us, and depending on the temperature it can transform into ice or vapor, that is, it can go from a solid and crystalline body to an odorless and colorless gas. According to what scientists tell us, The atoms of water have existed for 13,813 million years and each of us is made up of 62% of them. In the installation that I present, made with rockrose branches covered with Japanese paper, I have constructed the three states of water, the ice at the bottom, fluid water in the middle, and steam bubbles at the top. The red threads represent the energies that circulate between the three states. In the drawings, I show images of cosmic constellations that I visualize in dreams or with my eyes closed. They are made with rice paper on which I apply several layers of watercolor and on which I make the drawing while listening to music. Depending on the rhythm, my hand begins to move almost automatically while I try to make everything flow like water and many times the result is an unexpected shape.
