The library@orchard is delighted to present the Pro Series: Crocheting upcycled & recycled yarns with Muta.wear workshop by Adel Ng. In this engaging session, participants will learn simple crochet techniques and have the opportunity to craft using a variety of commercially available recycled yarns. They will also have the chance to combine these yarns with their own old clothes and other forms of post-consumer textile waste. The goal is to create functional homeware pieces or small art pieces like coasters, bowls, trivets, and baskets. To contribute to the project, participants are advised to bring clean, underutilized, or unwanted textile waste such as old bedlinen or T-shirts. We will cut yarn from these materials to incorporate into the project.
Adel Ng, a renowned Designer/Maker with over two decades of experience, will be leading this workshop. Known for her considered and thoughtful design explorations, she has worked with various public and private sector organizations and has been featured in national media.
