Join the September 24 Paint Your Pet Project at Brew Park in Plymouth for a unique art class experience. This event is perfect for pet lovers of all skill levels. Trained local artists will guide you through the process of creating a beautiful portrait of your furry friend. All necessary supplies are included, and no prior art experience is required. Whether you have a dog, a chicken, an iguana, or a pig, you can paint your pet with confidence. To participate, simply send a high-resolution photo of your pet to YourBeardedArtist@Gmail.com. A grayscale outline of your pet will be printed onto a custom canvas, which will be ready for you to paint when you arrive. Join Wayne County Parks for the Heroes on Hines 5K Run/Walk in Plymouth, Michigan on September 30, 2023. This event honors our fallen first responders who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our community. The race will take place at Haggerty Park, specifically at the First Responders Memorial located at 41181 Edward Hines Drive. Participants can register online at the official event website and will receive a race t-shirt, finisher's medal, and post-race snacks. Adult registration is $25 until September 28, and $30 at packet pick-up and on race day. Kids aged 17 and younger can register for $20 until September 28, and $25 on race day. Please note that this is a fun run and will not be timed. Packet pick-up and late registration will be available on the Friday before race day at the First Responder Memorial from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. On race day, packet pick-up will be open from 6:30 AM until 15 minutes before the start of the race at the First Responder Memorial as well. We kindly ask participants to leave backpacks and duffle bags at home or in their vehicles, as they are not allowed in the race area. Parking will be available at the First Responders Memorial located at 12000 N. Haggerty Road. Volunteers are also needed for this event, and those who sign up will receive a complimentary race shirt and entry into the Wayne County LightFest Run/Walk or Bike events.
