The Second Annual Gaines 5K Run & 1 Mile Fun Run is just around the corner! This highly anticipated event offers participants the choice between a 1 Mile Fun Run or a 5K route. Taking place at the picturesque Pine Hill Park in Gaines, Michigan, this event promises to be a memorable experience for all. The Gaines 5K Run & 1 Mile Fun Run is more than just a fun event; it is also a fundraiser for the Gaines Elementary PTO. All proceeds from the run will go towards supporting the school and its programs. It's a great opportunity to give back to the community while enjoying a day of outdoor activity. The theme for this year's run is "RUNNING WILD through Gaines," and participants are encouraged to embrace their wild side by dressing up in animal costumes. If costumes aren't your thing, don't worry! You can still show your support by wearing your Swartz Creek gear and coming dressed as a dragon. The run will kick off at 10am with the 5K route. Runners will follow a scenic course that takes them through the charming Village of Gaines. The 1 Mile Fun Run will start at 10:30am and will take participants on a route around the perimeter of the village. At the finish line, all runners will receive a medal, as well as a banana and water to replenish their energy. The organizers are also working on providing t-shirts for participants, pending sponsorships. Please note that all children must be accompanied by an adult, who is also participating in the run.
