Creating with Clay, led by teaching artist Mari Martin, will meet at the Art Depot in downtown Hollister on Mondays from 5:00-6:30PM and is recommended for students 8-13 years old. Students will learn the basics of working with clay by making their own creations. They will also have the opportunity to learn about painting and will go home with a finished project. Materials will be provided. Registration for this class is $65/per student/per month. Siblings receive a $10 discount. Student registration must be renewed prior to each monthly session. Youth Art Studio 1 meets Tuesdays in January, February and March from 4:00pm-5:00pm In these workshops students will create with a variety of artistic mediums. From paints to pastels, clay to collage, and everything in between, young artists will have the opportunity to experiment with a diverse range of materials, discovering new ways to express themselves artistically. Paint Party Workshop meets two Wednesdays in January on 1/8 and 1/22 from 5:00pm-6:30 pm. Students must register separately for each workshop. In each workshop, students will create a complete painting alongside the teaching artist. Painting workshops will allow students to practice painting skills while walking away with a completed piece of artwork that is ready to hang or gift. Popular projects have included silly animals, likable characters, calming landscapes or seasonal favorites. All materials will be provided. DIY Makerspace Class meets every Thursday in January from 4:00pm-5:15pm. Students may register for the entire month or may select the daily drop-in rate. Join our DIY Makerspace, where imagination meets innovation. Each session students will engage in self-guided artmaking activities with the support of the teaching artist. Teaching artists will be available to source materials, inspiration, and provide general support in the studio space. Teaching artists may also create alongside their students.
