Get Up & Go Improv Classes is an exciting and innovative opportunity in Portland, Maine. This dynamic six-week program offers a fun and engaging experience for students of all levels. Led by experienced teacher Adam Groppman, who has an impressive background in the comedy scene, this class is designed to develop improvisation skills and ignite your creativity. Throughout the course, students will learn the art of improv through lively warm-up games and scene variations. The curriculum covers various tools of improv, including emotional connection, character development, physicality, space and object work, mimicry, and accessing innate language knowledge. With a focus on playfulness and instincts, students will become proficient improvisers and experience the magic of writing, acting, and creating in the moment. As a special highlight, the program concludes with a Grad Improv Show, held at a local Portland venue. Students will have the opportunity to invite friends and family to witness their entertaining and fun scene variations on stage.
