Cassette is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated 2023 Battle At The Bend Skateboard contest! This event has been a staple in Chattanooga for years, showcasing the city's vibrant skateboarding community. Taking place at the renowned Chattanooga Skate Park on October 28th, this contest promises to be an exciting display of talent and skill. With 70 skateboarders going head to head, the competition will be fierce. The winner will not only take home a grand prize of $500 but also receive a custom-made Ignis Glass trophy, adding an extra level of prestige to their victory. But that's not all! Cassette is known for bringing a unique twist to their events, and this year is no exception. In addition to the main event, there will be several mini jam events throughout the day. Starting at noon, there will be an all wheels welcome jam, where everyone is encouraged to participate regardless of skill level or identity. It's a laid-back and inclusive session aimed at fostering a sense of camaraderie among skateboarders. Costumes are even encouraged! For the younger skaters, there will be a Grom Jam at 1:00 pm. Kids aged 12 and under will have the chance to showcase their skills and learn from experienced skate instructors. It's an opportunity for the next generation of skateboarders to shine. One of the highlights of the day will be the Old Bones Division at 2:00 pm. This event is for seasoned veterans of the skate community, aged 35 and above. It's a chance for them to reconnect with their passion and have a blast together. After a break for warm-ups, the main event will kick off at 6:00 pm. The top 70 skaters will have two 45-second runs to impress the judges with their style, creativity, and use of the park. The top 12 skaters will then advance to the finals for two more runs. The ultimate champion will not only receive a prize package from sponsors but also a generous $500 donation from Outdoor Chattanooga.
