Intro to Tarot Part 2 | Raven's Veil

Apr 26, 2025 (UTC-7)ENDED
Vancouver
Cultural Experiences
Learning tarot can be overwhelming in the beginning. Paige teaches how to interpret the minor arcana through an elemental and numerological system that leaves room for intuitive reading with no heavy memorization required. Then we piece it all together and get into what it all means in a reading! Snacks, tea and worksheets provided. Please come with your own Rider-Waite-Smith** tarot deck and notebook. It is highly recommended you take Part One prior to attending Part Two. In Part Two we will be focusing the second half of the workshop on weaving the entire deck together into cohesive readings. Very basic knowledge of the Major Arcana and Court Cards (taught in Part One) will be required. ** Rider-Waite-Smith deck is what I will be teaching from and I find one of the easiest decks to learn from, given its highly illustrative nature. If you really rather not work with the Rider-Waite-Smith deck please feel free to bring an alternative. Cancellations must be made before 5 working days prior to the event or tickets are non-refundable. Information Source: Raven's Veil | eventbrite

Painting
The Vancouver Visual Art Foundation invites you to get creative with our series of art classes taking place at Art Vancouver and taught by our incredible exhibitors. This art class ticket includes all art supplies and 1 Day admission to the show. Alcohol Ink Alcohol Ink is a fluid liquid, heavily saturated colour with a beautiful dreamy movement, painting technique and is also the name for colors based in alcohol. NO PREVIOUS ARTISTIC EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! That is the magic of Alcohol Inks! You can make art on Opus Stone Paper, Yupo paper, or ceramic tiles. Unlike acrylic paints, alcohol inks can be “revived”. This means that when dried ink comes into contact with fresh ink or pure alcohol, it reacts and can be further processed. If you are sensitive to odours, you may want to avoid this class as the inks are diluted with rubbing alcohol. Please wear paint clothes and gloves. MATERIALS: All materials will be provided About the Instructor: Taisha Teal has exhibited all over Vancouver and Internationally. She loves painting live at charity events and volunteers her spare time with children in need. She has been an artist all her life, starting with when she could play with her food. Taisha’s mother is an artist so her childhood was surrounded by all different kinds of art. Every birthday she had when she younger was like an art program, she had sections in their house for clay-making, beading, sewing, painting, drawing, cake decorating, basically, you name it, she did it! Taisha is a certified Art Therapist, Artist and professional member of the Canadian Art Therapy Association. She has a BA in Psychology from Simon Fraser University, an Art Therapy Diploma from the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute, and is currently continuing studies at Emily Carr University as an Artist. Taisha is represented by Hollyburn Gallery in West Vancouver and Art Vancouver Gallery in the Bentall Centre. Taisha’s vision with art is to induce positive emotions and radiate inspiration with every brush stroke, to expose the creativity in everyone. Art gives meaning to our lives and helps us understand our world. It is an essential part of our culture because it allows us to have a deeper understanding of our emotions; it increases our self-awareness and allows us to be open to new ideas and experiences. After moving across the pond and missing the events and connections she made with fellow RBC'ers, she wanted to recreate that experience in vibrant Vancouver. Top RBC Reads: Bad Blood , by John Carreyrou Life 3.0 , by Max Tegmark In Extremis: The Life of War Correspondent Marie Colvin , by Lindsey Hilsum Amirali Sharifian Amirali is a programming language designer for AI computers. Rebel Book Club offers just that, and Amirali is excited to help grow a space where diverse perspectives come together to challenge ideas and expand horizons. Amirali's nonfiction recommendations: The User Illusion: Cutting Consciousness Down to Size , by "Tor Nørretranders" Factfulness , by Hans Rosling More about Nexus, A Brief History of Information Networks from the Stone Age to AI Stories brought us together. Books spread our ideas – and our mythologies. The internet promised infinite knowledge. The algorithm learned our secrets – and then turned us against each other. What will AI do? NEXUS is the thrilling account of how we arrived at this moment, and the urgent choices we must now make to survive – and to thrive. Information Source: Rebel Book Club | eventbrite
