Back for it's 3rd year, the Charlotte African American Book Festival celebrates African Americans contributions to literature, books, literacy, and the literary culture. It will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the historic Second Ward Gymnasium/Brooklyn Village located at 710 E. MLK Jr. Blvd. in downtown Charlotte, North Carolina. This event is a hands-on fun experience for students entering 4th – 6th grades in the 2025-2026 school year to get fired up about science. The event is open to students throughout Eaton County. Based on the number of reservations, we are hoping to offer both an AM and a PM session. Students will need to check in 15 minutes prior to the session start time to pick up name badges and learn the site for the day. The event will run rain or shine.
