Radical Rest: A Transformative Sound Bath | Deer House (cabin in the garden)
Jan 25, 2025 (UTC+0)ENDED
Stroud
Come and be immersed in the vibrations of sound as we share a journey during which you are invited to sit, lie or even move and receive the sounds of a unique musical journey improvised live by Matthew Heyse-Moore, to support you to experience deep rest. Matthew's music seeks to evoke the beauty and power of mountains, rivers and forests, and the interconnection of life. This offering, inspired by teachings of Tricia Hersey and the Nap Ministry, comes from a curiosity about what it would be to reclaim rest as a radical act of self-care, resistance, and collective healing. It's conceived not simply as an act of personal wellbeing but also a space for renewal, hope, and the possibility of transformation for both ourselves and for the bigger picture of life around us. Whether you seek rejuvenation, rest, inspiration, musical nourishment or a quiet rebellion against the culture of hustle, busyness and individualism, this evening offers a sanctuary to breathe, be, and heal. If this resonates or piques your curiosity, you are invited to join us for this experience together. We will have an opportunity for some sharing time after the music time has ended. To be really comfortable you may wish to bring layered clothing including a warm layer, a blanket, yoga mat, cushion, eye-mask, water bottle. Saturday 25th January 7 - 8.30pm with optional tea, snack and social connection afterwards til 9.15pm. Please try and arrive promptly so that we can begin together soon after 7pm - you can arrive from 6.45pm. We're sorry to say you'll need to be able to navigate steps to enter the venue. It's also a small space with limited capacity for social distancing but in both cases we will do what we can to accommodate you - if you have any access needs or concerns please let us know. As we plan the session, it's really helpful to know early who's coming, so we are asking attendees to register in advance so that we know we are in the window between our maximum and minimum numbers. We will limit numbers - if you would like to come, please book early! As well as a standard price of £20 we are offering a wide sliding scale of contributions from £10 to £30 to make the event accessible - should the lowest amount not be affordable right now and you feel the call to come, please make contact before the day - you can email Matthew on mheysemoore@gmail.com Feel free to get in touch as well with any questions. If for whatever reason you are not managing to register here get in touch for other options (or, should it be full, to join a waiting list).
