Ben Pope: The Cut Tour (Glasgow) Ben Pope ('a total delight' - Fest) brings his brand-new stand-up hour to The Old Hairdresser's, Glasgow. Look, there's no easy way to put this. Last year, Ben got circumcised. On purpose, and as recommended by medical professionals. This show is a 55min inventory of his ensuing masculine panic. Expect jokes and stories on: the male ego, pillow talk, charity shops, the sublime mystery of having a father, and also exactly one pig. It's a show about losing a part of yourself. Glasgow
Cultural Experiences
In this beginner's paleoart workshop, we'll be looking to draw a Smilodon, perhaps the most famous of the extinct sabre-toothed cats. The workshop will take you through the practical drawing techniques necessary to draw animals realistically, friendly to total beginners and more intermediate artists alike. We'll also be delving into the science behind how artists approach reconstructions using fossil materials, modern analogues (in this case, animals like lions or tigers), inferences from the extinct animal's behaviour, and lots of imagination! This workshop is perfect for anyone interested in the crossover of science and art, palaeontology and biology enthusiasts, or just anyone who's interested in learning to draw animals realistically. Class size will be kept small to allow for plenty of one-to-one tuition. All materials for drawing with graphite and colour pencil are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own drawing materials if preferred. The workshop is 15+ but children over 10 can attend with an adult. Any questions, feel free to contact me at shirinillustration@gmail.com Information Source: Shirin Sheppard | eventbrite

Arts Film
We are at a vital crossroads in the future of our land and seas. Why Not Scotland? explores the Scottish landscape through the eyes of Flo, a young Scot from Glasgow. Seeing the depleted state of nature across her own country, Flo feels dispirited and increasingly fearful about an uncertain future, like many of her generation. However, on a journey around Europe, Flo encounters a different story, finding places where nature is making a dramatic comeback, revitalising human communities. Encouraged by these stories of hope and renewal, she is prompted to wonder: if this is possible elsewhere, then why not Scotland? While this is being hosted at the Eco-Hub, you do not need to be a student at the University of Glasgow to attend. Find out more: https://www.scotlandbigpicture.com/why-not-scotland In order to make positive change, we must work together. The Crystal Teardrop - A distinctive blend of garage rock, psychedelia and power pop, exploded onto the alternative rock scene in April 2023. Inspired by a mutual passion for the sights, sounds and creative experimentation of the late 1960s, the band’s music demonstrates an innate affection for classic artists such as The Beatles and The Kinks alongside West Coast favourites including The Great Society, Love and The Byrds. The band have been likened to Paisley Underground favourites The Bangles and The Pandoras due to their female fronted line up and dynamic onstage chemistry. The Crystal Teardrop have quickly gained a reputation for their captivating high energy performances. Shindig wrote: “The Crystal Teardrop bring the Paisley Underground edge and smash it into some pretty heavy ’67 psych” and described the band’s debut set as “bloody good fun”. The band have also made a live appearance on BBC Music Introducing and been featured on 6Music and NME 1. The group release their debut album on Popclaw (Rise Above Records) in May 2025 and will promote it with a UK/EU tour. Full of the vibrant energy and musical experimentation which have rapidly become the band’s trademark. Paper Machine Music - Paper Machine Music rose from the ashes of Glasgow band Viva Stereo.
