Everyone is welcome to join the discusion of our favorite scifi and fantasy reads. Whether you're a seasoned fan or just dipping your toes into the genre, this is the perfect place to explore new worlds with fellow readers. At our January gathering, the group voted on our next read! For our Friday, April 4 gathering from 7-8 pm, we’ll be discussing The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison. The youngest, half-goblin son of the Emperor has lived his entire life in exile, distant from the Imperial Court and the deadly intrigue that suffuses it. Entirely unschooled in the art of court politics, he has no friends, no advisors, and the sure knowledge that whoever assassinated his father and brothers could make an attempt on his life at any moment.
Surrounded by sycophants eager to curry favor with the naïve new emperor, and overwhelmed by the burdens of his new life, he can trust nobody. Amid the swirl of plots to depose him, offers of arranged marriages, and the specter of the unknown conspirators who lurk in the shadows, he must quickly adjust to life as the Goblin Emperor. All the while, he is alone, and trying to find even a single friend . . . and hoping for the possibility of romance, yet also vigilant against the unseen enemies that threaten him, lest he lose his throne–or his life. So... what's this book club like? // Scifi / Fantasy readers have been gathering bi-monthly for over a year now and it's been a blast! Some people finish the read, others dip in for as long as they have capacity for. All are welcome, valued, and celebrated. The group draws a crowd of about 15-20 people; enough to keep the perspectives diverse and fresh, but not too many that all voices aren't heard. We have a number of folks who've returned to us--and a number who are new. We discuss prepared prompts but we also go with the conversational flow. After a good discussion, the group votes on the next session's read. Feel free to pitch a book to the group, whether it's a new book you're itching to read it or it's a favorite! Booksweet is located in The Courtyard Shops, filled with AMAZING dining options. We will provide water and light refreshments (including nut-free and gluten-free options). Snacks and drinks are totally welcome; don't feel shy about sipping boba while we chat! We hope to see you there!

Anna Villa is located at the southwest side of the intersection of Qufu Road and Zhejiang Road in Shinan District, Qingdao. It was built in 1901 and completed in 1903. It is a typical Baroque building. The builder and first owner was German businessman Robert Kappler. This brick and tile manufacturer named his new home &quot;Anna Villa&quot; in memory of his beloved daughter. [1]

In March 2014, after a major renovation, Anna Villa opened its arms to the world with a new image of a bookstore.
