We are delighted to be partnering with Kirklees Council to offer exciting music-making opportunities for young people in school years 7-11 (ie. aged 11-16). Over the summer holiday we will be offering three fantastic multi-day workshops, all taking place at the University of Huddersfield. Our summer holiday workshops are comprised of three distinct programmes, each designed to be attended as a multi-day course. Young people are invited to participate in as many of the programmes as they would like – each one provides an excellent opportunity to take part in hands-on, creative music-producing experiences led by industry professionals. We are offering 10 places free of charge on each programme for young people in receipt of free school meals. A handful of places for other high school pupils are available, priced at £13.50 per 2-day programme / £27 per 4-day programme. All places include a hot lunch provided by the University of Huddersfield’s on-campus canteen. School’s Out! Pages may be plain or decorated using washes or collage. About the artist Fiona Edmondson is an experienced printmaker and Artist Educator. Originally studying Fine Art painting, she has for many years been fascinated by the qualities and variety of printmaking processes including etching, Gelli, Lino and collograph printing in her current work. What to Bring: You may want to use some unusual papers and coloured cards that are sold in the shop in addition to the supplied cartridge paper. Please visit the shop to take a look. These lessons are perfect for children who can already cycle without stabilisers and want to further develop their cycling skills. Taking place during the February half term in 2024, these lessons provide a great opportunity for children to learn important skills such as signaling and communicating with other road users. The lessons will also help build confidence through a variety of off-road cycling activities. Join other children of the same age in a safe and fun environment. To participate, children will need to bring a suitable bike (correct size, with working front and back brakes, and pumped up tires), a helmet, and a water bottle. It is important to note that stabilisers are not allowed. Please ensure that your child's bike has been checked for safety prior to the course. Morning lessons start at 10.00am and finish at 11.45am, while afternoon lessons start at 12.15pm and finish at 2pm. Emergency contact details and medical information will be collected at the beginning of each lesson. Parents/guardians are not required to stay during the session but must be available for emergency contact. All instructors are DBS checked and qualified coaches, and first aiders will be on site.
