The classes take place in Studio 2 at Exeter Phoenix, located on Gandy Street. Each term, there is a different focus, including film, visual arts, music, spoken word, costume, and special guest hosts. These regular Tuesday classes provide an opportunity for participants to connect with like-minded dance practitioners, discuss ideas, and form collaborations. Additionally, there are regular socials for further discussion and connection.
The sessions are run by the talented members of The Hub Company, including Ruth Bell and Jenny Pill. Ruth is a dancer, choreographer, and filmmaker who finds inspiration in the people she works with. She is passionate about cross-art collaboration and aims to contribute to a culturally vibrant dance art scene in the South West. Jenny, on the other hand, has extensive experience in studying, teaching, creating, and performing dance. She also directs the Exeter Dance International Film Festival and co-directs The Hub Company.
