In this workshop, Katy will help participants explore different ways we can put our lives and thoughts on stage without following a neat narrative. Through a devising process, we’ll play with video, sound, text, movement and repetition - smashing it all together into something that makes sense in its own strange way. We’re prioritising feelings over message, what’s real over what is polished. Katy said, “I want to make work that feels raw – that shows the mess, the boredom, the joy, the gross bits – all of it. I want audiences to find their own meaning in the work. How can we make work that doesn’t explain life, but lets us feel it?" WHO : Participants aged 18 and over A £5 deposit is required, this will be refunded upon attendance of the workshop. ACCESS : To discuss any access requirements, please contact chantal@commonwealththeatre.co.uk Katy Baird (she/her) is a Scottish artist, activist, and curator known for her bold, provocative live performances exploring class, gender, sexuality, and the pursuit of pleasure.
