Osaka Museum of Natural History holds approximately 2 million items, of which approximately 400,000 are plant specimens. These specimens are used by various researchers every day, and after extensive examination, the results are published as papers. For many people, the use of these specimens in research is probably something far removed from their imagination. This time, we will be exhibiting plant specimens held by Osaka Museum of Natural History that have actually been used in research, along with the results of that research, in the hope that many people will become aware of the excitement of research using specimens.

This exhibition consists of a group of works created using mathematical algorithms, music programming and 3D architectural data, which are installed in each space of "VS". Daito Manabe emphasizes that exploring the relationship between mathematics and music is the basis of his artistic activities. One of the sources of influence is the "Music and Architecture" (1971) by the contemporary Greek composer Yannis Xenakis. Xenakis is an experimental and innovative work of architect Le Corbusier in collaboration with architects at Expo 58. This pioneering expression can be said to be the origin of media art, in which the entire space is filled with organic light, color, video, rhythm and electroacoustics. The exhibition “Continuum Resonance” makes full use of PolyNodes (2024), a groundbreaking 3D sound software developed by Manabe in collaboration with Sinan Bokesoy (artist/composer). The software allows you to freely design and intuitively represent the movement and changes of sound in 3D space. By dynamically controlling the position, intensity and timbre of sound in space, and changing the visual elements accordingly, we have created an immersive experience that merges sound and visual elements. This allows the audience to experience audiovisual space like never before.

The solo exhibition "Conjunction I to EYE" is themed "Conjunction" and features works in various forms, including large transparent installations, paintings, drawings and images, made from the three perspectives of "I", "EYE" and "Ai", exploring the connection between the self and objects encountered in the past. It is an opportunity for an intimate dialogue between the individual and the "interconnected self" to progress.

This exhibition explores the performances of the bards who traveled, wrote poetry, and transformed the world, and the material culture that made it possible.

The exhibition is themed "recluse" and features related calligraphy and paintings, musical instruments and crafts, leading visitors into the spiritual world of ancient hermits. Important exhibits include calligraphy based on the theme of "Returning to the Countryside" by the Chinese pastoral poet Tao Yuanming, "Pavilion Landscape" with a hermit-like interest, "Autumn Night" inscribed Heike Pipa and three attached calligraphy and painting scrolls.
