We are thrilled to have special guest, Rhiannon Clarke, joining us to share her experience and inspiring story. About Rhiannon Clarke: Rhiannon is a Perth-based Australian para-athlete who specialises in sprint events. Her career launched when she was selected to represent Australia at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast. Rhiannon’s determination was evident at the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships, where she demonstrated her commitment to advancing in para-athletics by winning bronze medals in both the women’s 100m T38 and 200m T38 events. She made her Paralympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Games, competing in the women’s 100m T38. At the 2024 Paris Paralympics, Rhiannon finished fourth in the Women's 100 meters T38 and fifth in the Women's 400 meters T38, setting new Oceania records in both events. 📣 IRB Requalification 2024 - Reminder for Members! Attention Sorrento Surf Club members! The IRB requalifications will be held on the following dates: • Saturday 7th December, 1:00 pm at Pinaroo Point Hillarys. ⏳ Please allow 3-4 hours for the requalification. We’ll need to set up boats and transport them, so please arrive at Sorrento at least 1 hour before the start time to help. Setting up and packing away the boats is part of the requalification, so everyone will need to assist to complete the process. We’ve made a few changes this season, and an open requalification session will be held for all clubs at different locations. 💻 Important: New content for both IRB driver and IRB crew requalification is available in the SLS Powercraft e-learning section on the members’ portal. You’ll also find the updated IRB training manual with new videos on the techniques and renamed parts. (Note: The e-learning isn’t compulsory, but it will help on the day!)
